NEPSE falls for third straight session, turnover slips to 3.67 billion

The stock market extended its decline for a third consecutive trading session on Monday, with the NEPSE index falling 9.04 points to close at 2,641.05.

Market turnover also declined from the previous session. Shares worth NRs 3.67 billion changed hands on Monday, compared with NRs 3.77 billion on Friday. A total of 109.67 million shares of 352 securities were traded.

Of the companies traded, 180 recorded losses, 82 gained, and 14 remained unchanged.

The Corporate Development Bank posted the biggest gain, rising 8.47% to NRs 1,155.20 per share, while Daramkhola Hydropower advanced 6% to NRs 620.

On the losing side, Reliable Samriddhi Yojana 2 fell the most, declining 9.40% to NRs 9.03 per unit. Atmanirbhar Laghubitta dropped 8.87% to NRs 5,467 per share.

Among individual stocks, Solu Hydropower recorded the highest turnover at NRs 463.7 million, with its share price rising 3.34% to NRs 711. Ridi Power followed with turnover of NRs 292.7 million at NRs 384.90 per share, while First Microfinance recorded NRs 124.5 million in turnover.
