Following a sharp dip in the first trading session after the fiscal year 2083/84 budget announcement, NEPSE rebounded on Tuesday, gaining double digits despite a slight dip in overall market turnover.
The benchmark index experienced significant volatility in early trading but took a steady upward trajectory after 12:25 PM. By the closing bell, the NEPSE index jumped by 22.21 points to settle at 2777.58 points.
Total turnover however declined slightly to NRs 5.26 billion from NRs 5.61 billion on Monday. Total traded shares were 11,383,431 across 346 securities. 183 companies advanced, 78 declined and 10 remained stable
Ankhu Khola Hydropower Company emerged as the most heavily traded stock of the day, recording a turnover of NRs 467.6 million. Its stock price rose by 2.06% to close at NRs 439.90 per share.

Out of the 13 sectoral indices, 12 wrapped up the day in positive territory. The Manufacturing and Processing sector was the sole decliner, dropping by 0.42%.
The Others sub-index posted the strongest gain, surging by 3.84% due to big movements in heavyweights like Nepal Reinsurance and Himalayan Reinsurance. The Finance sector also witnessed a massive rally, climbing between 6.03% and 6.3% tracking explosive gains in individual finance stocks.
